Harkishan Singh Surjeet : 'Sickled General of the Hammered Masses'

Harkishan Singh Surjeet  (23 March 1916 – 1 August 2008)

The quintessential hero, who walked the 'blotched red carpet'. I adore the man for his pre independence brashness against the colonial rule and the post 1947 piped crusade to promote communal harmony. In national pedagogy, clouded by political leanings and biased connotations, he is the 'rarely sung hero'. On the occasion of his third death anniversary...

The aging steer of the saffron caravan : L K Advani !!

He is, fortunately (or alternately), the oppositions party s  seat of collective wisdom. He leads a political body, that once rose with momentary lapse of reasoning, to the present, where it is seen as a withering pile of corner clutter, that has lost its  sheen. This caricature took form in 2001 at a roadside eatery in rural Punjab. L K Advani was then the fire spewing Home minister that failed to light even  smouldering tinder.

The dark Ringmaster : Amar Singh

Of Kings and Jesters, he lead them all to the high pedestal of a volatile political circus, wrung out a performance and bit into the booty they collected. All was well, till an illustrious political heavyweight pulled the rug, from beneath his ambitious  feet..

Tongue Blazers:Andhra Cuisine

The spice crammed serving from the south eastern state of India, will more than just ignite your digestive track.....it leaves a tasteful blaze for one to savor.
My experience commenced as a 'food I never would touch' to today, where to me it is 'the fare that defines a blissful gastronomic experience'

Con-vacation

I went to a 'self proclaimed coveted' B school to undergo a two year Masters Program in Business administration.
Education they say, is a phenomenon that disguises from the foolish and discloses to the wise, their lack of understanding.Sure, I did come out 'well educated'.
Business, or anything remotely connected, was never my cup of tea. When graduating, from B school, i tried to fathom my Dean's (Prof Krishnan) reaction when conferring on me, the coveted post graduation branding......

An ‘obscure’ wedding invite !!

The unassuming devil in me quipped 'marriages are made in heaven, life after that (and this cartoon) is cherished in hell',
Recently,my sister in law bit the marital dust ( to err is far less human than it is meant to be). In a pompous run up to the event, the wedding invite design was put on my horned seat of thought. (ha ha ha....to err twice, endorses the punitive human state)
Started this piece using a  revolting ball pen and the backside of an overwhelmed shirt box. All this crippled effort, to race against a shrinking deadline. The tolerant couple to be,was blessed with a Hobsons choice...... and rolled this doodle out on their wedding invite. (ahem) Bravo..."Tous mes voeux de bonheur" A 'knotty' toast anyone?
